I LOOK FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES THAT WERE NEVER MEANT TO APPEAR. Like this image— which, over the course of 100 years, seeped through to the paper backing on this glass plate image. I love the accidental mirror image we are left with— mysterious and unintended.

Seeing Double

SOMETIMES ACCIDENTS, QUIRKS OF CHEMISTRY, time and pressure can produce wonderful, unexpected results—as in this extra ghost-like photographic image produced over time by 75 to 100 years of being closed. This fits my collecting focus perfectly. An unexpected beauty!
