Vintage Japanese Robots

TOY ROBOTS ARE FUN. THEY SPEAK TO TECHNOLOGY, OF THE IMITATION OF MAN. Robots have been part of science fiction for over a hundred years. In fact, I’ll bet most of us can think of the name of at least one movie or television robot.

Tom Geismar, whose firm Chermayeff & Geismar has created some of the most famous brands in the world, also has a special eye for vintage toy robots. His collection was exhibited last October 2008 at The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle. The show was called Robots: A Designer’s Collection of Miniature Mechanical Marvels and reflect Geismar’s creative eye.
