Skilled Hands
SPOTTED THIS ON YouTube. It reminds me of something I heard once. A person walks into a gallery and looks at a beautiful, simple line drawing by an obviously accomplished artist. The artist was standing nearby when the woman walked up and asked “how long did it take you to draw that? It’s just three lines!” The artist answered: “About thirty years.”
For this skilled craftsman/artist, imagine the lifetime of practice and hard work it took him to be able to make a pot as perfect as you see here in only two minutes.
Pottery is a hobby of mine...he makes it look so easy...WOW!
ReplyDeletean amazing post, really enjoyed watching it :)
ReplyDeleteA-mazing! Simply astonishing. What many years of practice and practice and even more practice can help you achieve. It's only natural for beginners to look at professionals and see how "easily" they can create something, but they don't see the long time it took these masters to hone those skills. i myself am guilty of this, as I'm sure many others are as well.
