IN SEVERAL WAR MOVIES OF YEARS PAST, IT WAS NOT UNCOMMON TO SEE A LOCAL KID “adopted” by a troop—someone they took in to feed, clothe and help out. These photos substantiate that fact, with a young Japanese kid the troop called “8-Ball.” In these pictures, the child looks happy and proud to be with his new American friends. His uniform, cut down to size and modified for him, was something he must have cherished.
“Eight-Ball” could still be alive today. I wonder what he would have to say about his experience of so long ago?

Wow!! Find him, find him!
Now, with the internet and the interest of others who might read this— it could happen. Eight-ball, where are you?
Fantastic bit of ephemera. By the way, I love your blog.
