A THOUGHT-PROVOKING THESIS PROJECT BY AN ENTERPRISING COLLEGE ART SCHOOL STUDENT caught my attention last night. Hartford Art School senior Britney Badger took apart cooking and cleaning appliances and systematically arranged their interior parts on a sheet of white bristol board in order to photograph the parts. Britney says her intention was “to explore the hidden ‘brains’ of these appliances; allowing us to view these everyday objects from a new perspective.” She has been selling limited edition prints on her Etsy.com web site at www.brittnybadger.etsy.com. I am really impressed by the highly conceptual nature of her project, her enterprising nature and talent.
