CRISTIANA COUCEIRO IS A 31-YEAR OLD ILLUSTRATOR and graphic designer who lives in Lisboa, Portugal. She collage’s vintage papers with contemporary images the old-fashioned way—with glue and scissors. Whether she follows that hand work with scanning and digitizing the pieces seem likely, as the translucent, overlapping sections would be difficult otherwise.
Cristiana has a fresh style that looks and feels effortless, a style that harkens back to the birth of modernism. It would be quite easy to over-do something like this—but she knows just when to stop. Her work has a beauty to it based on her own sense of mathmatical formulas, grids, balance, vintage ephemera, typography and numerals.

The work, lovely as it may be, looks to be digital, not handmade.
I've been seeing these and I love them all! Thanks for the info and the highlight!
I know, it does. Perhaps she starts the old-fashioned way, eventually scans the work, digitizes it. I, too, wonder how she creates the translucent sections and other parts.
Wonderful creative design. WOW!
